MIA MORETTI THOMAS- SALLY

WHICH SCHOOL YEARS WERE THE WORST FOR YOU? ELEMENTARY, MIDDLE, HIGH SCHOOL? WHY?

6th-8th grade were probably the toughest years for me growing up for sure, it was just a very awkward stage. Fitting in was really important, and to do that I had to reinvent myself, and to some that sounds negative. Why should I change myself? I'm fine the way I am. Which is true! But I was sick of being a skinny young girl who got overlooked, I wanted to be someone outgoing and strong and confident someone who brought light to the room! So I started playing sports and did cheerleading started singing more was more outgoing in class, making new friends. I started caring more about me and what I wanted! And along the way I met some really great friends who I'm still friends with ten years later. I still believe that you should be who you are and don't change for anyone. But me changing myself I did for me, building up my confidence has made me who I am today, and I couldn't be happier.

DID YOU HAVE A BULLY GROWING UP? IF SO HOW DID YOU HANDLE THEM?

Ironically enough I did have a bully when I was about four or five. Her name was Astor and she was twice my size. She kept saying she would put me in the chokie if I didn't do things for her. Mind you doing things for her meant letting her swing longer than me while I pushed. Which is a joke because I was so small. I think I ended up telling a teacher and her mom and my mom and it stopped. Also I started getting a little bigger so she eventually backed off.

DID YOU EVER TRY RESOLVING YOUR ISSUES WITH BULLYING THROUGH THE POWER OF SONG? THAT SEEMS TO WORK IN MOST MUSICALS.

No,  but I should have though. I mean who would ever mess with a kid who broke out in song all the time? I would always want to listen to what the have to say! That's some serious talent.

WHAT WAS THE MOST IMPORTANT GOAL YOU HAD GROWING UP?

Honestly growing up all i've ever wanted to do is please my family. My only goal that I've had is to not waste the talent that was given to me. I don't have a timeline and a set plan but I do hope to one day be completely satisfied with everything I've done.

WHAT HAS IT BEEN LIKE WORKING ON "FATTY FATTY NO FRIENDS?"

INCREDIBLE. This production from start to where it is now has just been so amazing. The people that are in it, everyone working on it is just amazing, you couldn't ask for a more dedicated group of people. This show is special and I really hope that it continues to grow and be successful.
