Why dance?

Why not?

What’s it like living in NYC?

Cramped.

How would you describe your apartment?

After a year-long adventure of couch surfing and rotating sublets, I have settled within the tall white walls of a Brooklyn apartment. To appeal my wandering spirit of these new circumstances, I’ve began making my room into what seems to be the beginning of a conservatory. Metal bars home eager ivy, and from the windows, succulents suspend light on their waxy bodies. The air is cool, and the room is quiet - like a untouched pond, sprouting lily pads in its blue stillness.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Steven Apicello is a dancer in New York City. Growing up with an older sister who danced, he naturally followed into movement. Once attending the Greater Hartford Academy of the Arts, his momentum in the arts led him to receive a BFA (’15) in Dance at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia. He is currently performing in Punchdrunk’s Sleep No More, after a brief period of work with MADboots Dance.
